Day 1 and 2

Ok, so I'm realizing this change is going to be a gradual one. It's always so difficult at first, but at least I'm more motivated in the beginning.

So yesterday I did pretty decent at first....ha ha! I started off my day with an herbalife protein shake (250 cal.). For lunch I had a turkey sandwich with Havarti cheese, sara lee whole wheat bread and mustard (320 cal). I also had wheat thins (200 cal). For dinner I had another herbalife protein shake (180 cal). All of this put me at about 1,000 calories for the day. Pretty good.

I also went on a bike ride that day and expended probably 300 calories. Later on in the evening I had a bowl of multigrain cheerios which ended up to be 200 calories. But then I had corn on the cob (150 cal) and doritos (280 cal). :-(

Today is supposed to be better......

Today I had a herbalife protein shake (250 cal)...good! Then for lunch I had a green salad with red wine vinegerette dressing, mozzerella cheese, almonds and cranberries (400 cal). Then I put a little sin in my day and had a 3 musketeers bar (260 cal)....bad idea. For dinner I had another shake (250 cal), 2 graham crackers (140 cal) and a cheese stick (50 cal). That puts me at 1100 calories for the day.

I also ran 2 miles and did some crunches probably expending 350 calories.

An Active Summer

I just ran my first Triathlon this last Sunday (May 16th) and now I'm addicted. I've decided to set a few summer goals this year. These goals are: 1. I want to be healthy and active 2. I want to complete 1 more triathlon and 3 5K's 3. I want to lose these love handles!

It seems that these three goals for the summer have one thing in common: staying healthy; so I need to develop a plan and commit. And this summer I have the time and resources to commit. I have no more excuses; school can't get in the way, my 3 jobs can't get in the way, homework can't get in the way and no money can't get in the way. I'm graduated, have a good paying job and have nothing else to do! It's time to get serious with this relationship. I'm ready to have a committed, fun and healthy relationship.....with health. Ha ha!

This blog is to journal my way through a lifestyle change. I need to write in this every day, and I think I'll have time, I just need to remember! I'll use this blog to track my eating habits, my training for the events I plan to complete this summer and as a guide to track any links or tips I will find along the way. I'm quite excited!

This week is my recover week from my triathlon I had on Sunday. Next week I start exercising and training and eating right! Although I'm going to try and incorporate healthy foods now though. So my plan next week, starting Monday is to do some P90X and running. I need to build up my muscles again. As for food, well, that will be a work in progress.
